Teenage years can be confusing for everyone involved. Including parents, you want to help the young people in your life but feel like you need more information on the challenges they might be facing in their lives. Find below a number of resources to help you understand what they might be dealing with and how to help.

Parent Line Tasmania: The Parent Line offers twenty-four hours information and support for parents throughout Tasmania.

- Beyond Blue: Detailed information for parents about teenagers dealing with gender and sexuality, bullying, managing stress, drugs and alcohol and mental health conditions in young people.

- Raising Children: Understanding anxiety in teenagers and helping them manage their emotions. 

​

- Help Guide: Understanding depression in young people, what are the signs and symptoms and how can you help them while experiencing depression. 

​

- Kids help line: Strategies to support teenagers dealing with mental health struggles. 

​

- Healthy Children: Information for parent to understand, acknowledge and support one's gender identity and/or sexual orientation. 

​

-Butterfly: Ways to support teens dealing with eating disorders or body image issues.

​

-Working it Out: Working It Out is Tasmania's sexuality, gender and intersex status support and education service. Working It Out provides support and advocacy services for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ+) Tasmanians.

- School Psychology Service: Assisting parents support children with sleep disorders and troubling sleeping.

- Cultural differences and conflict: Our kids’ wellbeing is impacted by cross cultural issues, often through discrimination and lack of acceptance. There are ways you can support your child through this.
